Understanding your Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
EAP's are employer sponsored programs designed to help resolve a variety of personal concerns that may impact workplace productivity. The EAP is a voluntary, confidential service, free of charge to employees and their dependent family members.
The EAP provides screening, assessment, brief counseling, consultation and referrals to other services when longer term or more specialized care is required. The EAP can provide assistance for a variety of concerns including:
- Emotional difficulties
- Parenting questions
- Marital or relationship concerns
- Workplace difficulties
- Substance abuse
- Financial, legal and identity theft concerns
