The clinical staff of our provider partners and any affiliate (or network provider) conducting face-to face assessment, counseling, and referral services to members must meet strict professional criteria. Staff and network providers must be capable of assessing and treating a wide variety of personal and mental health problems with diverse populations.
When contacting a clinical practice or provider for possible sub-contracting agreements, we utilize the following criteria to qualify the network provider:

Providers must have a degree in a behavioral health discipline from a college or university. These disciplines include psychiatry, clinical psychology, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, psychiatric nursing, medicine, and counseling.
-
Providers must be licensed or registered in the discipline that qualifies him or her to enter into a professional counseling relationship. These licenses or registrations must be current and unrestricted.
-
Providers will be available on an urgent on-call basis and have the accessibility and capability to respond to urgent situations.
-
Providers must have the training and ability to conduct short-term or goal focused, problem resolution counseling when necessary.
-
Providers maintain a current directory of community referral resources, including non-clinical resources such as 12-step programs, financial and legal services, and self-help support groups.
-
Providers must agree to offer face-to-face appointments within 24 hours of an urgent situation and within three to five days of a routine request for service.
-
Providers are required to have no criminal history involving serious criminal matters, no sanctions by state or federal agencies that relate to professional conduct.
-
Providers must complete and submit an Individual Provider Application, with supportive attachments, to our network manager every two years.
-
Providers must agree to cooperate with our standards and quality management guidelines.
